Communication Systems and Technology is a course that specializes in how people use modern communication systems to exchange information and ideas. These systems allow people to grow intellectually, express feelings, and to better understand diverse cultures.
This course explores the application of tools, materials, and techniques used to design, produce, use, and assess systems of communication. Students will also focus on ethical use and copyright. Careers in the various communication and technology industries will be explored through research and presentations. The school newsletter, Wildcat Glory, will also be a product of this class.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Computer Apps 1 and 2.
Communication Systems and Technology Syllabus
This course is designed to help students master the touch operation of the keyboard characters using correct keyboarding techniques. Content coverage includes the use of individualized lessons with three basic parts: Review of keys learned in Level I and II, practice material, and time tests. In the second part of the class, students learn business forms, spreadsheets, create informative presentations, and apply the skills they use during their school career and in the business world.
Prerequisite: Receiving a passing grade in Computer Applications I and II. New students to King Science and Technology Magnet will be tested on keyboarding skills to determine proper course placement.
